Home Security Cameras Offer Proof and Evidence

By Security Staff

When someone breaks into your home, you feel violated. It’s the ultimate insult against your rights to privacy and your rights to your own domain. However, if you just have an alarm system, it’s likely you’ll come home to a loud alarm and some missing goods. When the police finally do arrive, they’ll take a statement, tell you to follow up and then they’ll leave. This leaves you feeling as though nothing will be done. And the truth is, not much can be done unless they take fingerprints and run them through a national database. But even if the burglar didn’t wear gloves, which most do, the police aren’t likely to go to that much trouble unless a murder has been committed. So how do you get justice? You could prevent such a thing from happening again by installing a home security camera in your home.

Gotcha!

If someone breaks into your home and you had the foresight to install a home security camera on your premises, you would then have proof of the break in. When the police arrived to your home, you could then show them the tape. Hopefully, this would capture the burglar’s face or faces if there were multiple burglars and then they could go after whoever it was. A home security camera gives the police a name and a person to go after instead of just relying on any mistakes they may have made at the scene, such as dropping a wallet or an idea (neither of which is likely). By having a home security camera, you increase your chances that justice will be done.

Motion Sensors

Instead of having a home security camera that’s running all the time, you could install a home security camera that only comes on when motion is sensed. This makes it much easier to find the tape if something does happen. Otherwise, you could get caught going through hours of tape in order to search for the part when someone violated your privacy and broke into your sanctuary. Motion sensing cameras can be placed anywhere and you can even find wireless home security cameras so that you can post them anywhere you want without having to worry about wires.

Dummy Cameras

Of course sometimes just having a camera visible is enough to deter burglars. If a burglar sees a camera, real or fake, most aren’t going to take the chance of being caught on film and they’d rather go onto another house that doesn’t have such a security measure.
