Pros And Cons Of Home Security Systems

By Security Staff

Every home security system has its own pros and cons. The wireless home security system is no different from any other when it comes to being what seems as useless in a time of need, which should be continuously.   The bonus of having a wireless home security system is that you don’t actually have a hundred and one wires glued all round your home, which just makes disarming the system by intruders easier. Intruders have been known to cut alarm wires and telephone wires so that the security company attached to the alarm system is not alerted.   A problem with a wireless home security system is when the battery dies on you, as this should have its own beeping sound which lets you know the battery is on its way out and needs to be charged or replaced. Also when the electricity fails, your alarm may be going haywire as some wireless home security system has to be reset when the direct current is cut, and it’s yours. Well at least you would know your wireless home security system is working, and would therefore have to rush home to see what the problem could be.   Solar Power Is Short-lived   Another form of wireless home security system would be the use of solar lights in and around your front gate, but these also pose another problem, if the sun doesn’t shine then the lights don’t shine either. The other problem with solar lights as part of your wireless home security system is that they don’t last the whole night long, which you would prefer. A few hours and by the time you go to bed, they are lights out before you.   So it seems safe to say not to rely on solar power for your security systems and that you should always have a constant source of power to keep your system up and running.   If you have got an alarm system installed your local home security alarm system company can monitor your home on a regular basis too at a set fee per month. They also offer private home services for short periods, for those who may need it at an additional fee.  Even though you put your trust in your local alarm company to monitor your home on a regular basis, it has been known that most cases of housebreaking and entering is done by the monitoring company staff themselves. However safe you think your home is, always have your own plan B ready.
